I just received this email – I was really shocked to be getting such highly manipulative article from a friend, I decided to research the article. What a load of rubbish it was. I have happily deleted it and thank you for the time and effort you put in to debunking it. Truly scary stuff.

I’m not deleting your comment because I believe in free speech in a public forum. That said, who made you a Muslim cleric, that you feel qualified to decide who is and isn’t a true Muslim? And from everything I’ve read, Walid Shoebat is a radical bigot and a nutcase.

I think radical Islam – just like radical Christianity and radical Judaism – is incredibly dangerous. The thing is, radicals are usually the very vocal tail end of a curve, a few standard deviations out from the center. All it takes to re-align the conversation is for the massive group of normal, sensible people to stand up and firmly say to the radical element, “No. You do not represent us. You are not true believers. Back down or be shunned and punished.”
