I started work at MarketResearch.com on May 17, 2006. During my tenure, the company grew by 100% in all areas: personnel, revenue, office locations, and infrastructure. I started out as the singular Systems Administrator for the entire company (that included 3 offices and a collocated data center!). By the time I left, I was Sr. Systems Administrator and Infrastructure Management Team Lead. I and my small staff of Systems Administrators and Helpdesk Engineers moved the company to a largely virtualized infrastructure, maintained the IT infrastructure for 5 offices and two collocated data centers, and managed the technology integration process for two acquisitions.
I left MarketResearch.com in May of 2011, after receiving an offer for an IT Manager position from Teaching Strategies, LLC. in Bethesda, MD. I enjoy my work at Teaching Strategies; I think we’re making a difference in the world, and the work is exciting.
During my first two years with Teaching Strategies, I once again built an IT Team, and lead efforts to modernize and standardize the company’s infrastructure. I was promoted in mid-2014 to Director, IT & Facilities Management, and built an Office Operations team to run the company’s headquarters. I was also asked to join the Sr. Leadership project team that searched for, identified and built out a new office that will support the company’s growth trajectory.
I and my team transferred into the Operations group in 2015, and my title changed to Director, Business Operations. I’ve spent the last 9 months as a leader on the largest business systems transformation project in the company’s history, using Salesforce.com, Docusign, Conga, Payment Connect and Dell’s Boomi Integration Platform to drop-and-replace the company’s ancient home-built CRM.
