Dear Elected Official..

I sent out this letter to my elected representatives today.

Dear Representative Van Hollen, Senator Cardin, Senator Mikulski,

While I have worked diligently with my employer’s Human Resources department to include language in our handbook prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, many other employers still use outdated, discriminatory policies. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act will force these employers to recognize their policies for what they are, and change them.

As a professional, I would like to believe that I could find work in any area of the country, and be evaluated solely on the quality of my performance and skill set. Please support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, H.R.3017/S.1584, so that can actually be the case. I strongly support inclusion of both sexual orientation and gender identity in the bill.
