Think of the Children!

Joe Jervis over at J.M.G. linked an excellent video into his blog today that I’m re-linking below. It was created by Rob Tisinai (of Waking Up Now), in response to both the claims of Hak-Shing William Tam at the Prop 8 trial and the vile hatred spewed by Heteroseparatist.com (to whom I will not link). The video is a brief, but powerful debunking of the “gay molester” myth.

Of all the ugly, terrible myths out there about LGBT’s, this one is the most traumatizing to me. Individuals in my family think I’m gay because I was molested (I wasn’t) and have implied that I can’t be trusted with children. I can’t think of any more terrible accusation or assumption to make about someone.

On a related note, a study commissioned by the Catholic Church in the U.S. has found that there is no correlation between gay clergy and sexual abuse.

  • BTW, thanks for posting my initial response.
  • I don't, for one minute, think that all gays wish to recruit children. I do however go to full red alert when a homosexual will NOT disavow recruiting children into the glbt lifestyle WITHOUT the consent of their parents. Don't you?

I disavow teaching ANYTHING sexual to a child even WITH the consent of their parents, and I first did so in a blog-post-response to Rob Tish himself and challenged him to do the same and he WOULDN'T DO IT. He STILL won't disavow recruiting underage boys into the gay lifestyle! Even AFTER his video.
  • I cannot answer, nor will I comment on your claims about Tisani being disingenuous in his treatment of you. However, I would like to address this notion of LGBT's "recruiting" children.

LGBT activism in schools is all about increasing the numbers of healthy adult LGBT people. It has nothing to do with recruitment, because we have no need for a recruitment effort. There is no cause to analyze sex education curriculum for indications of coercion or advertisement, nor to examine the speeches of LGBT activists for recruitment jingles, because we know that no effort of ours can increase or decrease the number of children born lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Our activism in education is all about ensuring that LGBT children survive and thrive. We want to ensure that the LGBT children of today and tomorrow grow up in environments free of hatred and discrimination. We want to ensure that their straight peers grow up understanding that discriminating against someone on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity is wrong. We want a better future for all LGBT's: that's why we insist on teaching equality in education.

Note: I am aware of your point of view on being born gay, and reject it as false. I have modern Science, Psychology and my own experience to back me up.
  • Mr. Tish incorrectly portrayed me as believing that ALL homosexuals are molesters. This was a lie on his part. When I challenged him to correct his post, as I have done when he has pointed out inaccuracies on my blog at heteroseparatist.com, he wont face me. I have also challenged Mr. Tish to disavow recruiting children, in grades K thru 6, INTO the glbt lifestyle, WITHOUT the consent of their parents. This challenge has been on my blog since 28 Jan. 2010, and he has yet to respond. What does that say about him? My heteroseparatism is hate-free and I challenge you to find, on my blog, ANY instance where I have condoned violence or oppression towards the glbt community. (I don't think for one MINUTE that you will actually post this comment.)
  • Mr. Morris:

Unless your replies to my posts contain endorsements of violence, hate speech or personal attacks, I will always approve your comments. I strongly believe in free discourse and free speech. I'm sorry it took so long to get your comment approved - work has kept me from blogging properly, lately.
