To quote Lambert:

"Not every gay man is the same gay man....in order for us to progress, we need to stop segregating ourselves."

So, getting on a stage and miming a blowjob, among other acts, a week after complaining that The Advocate was trying to lump him in with 'every gay man' is admirable? You don't want to be an activist, this is fine, but Mr. Lambert appears to want to be 'every gay man' when it suits him and his record sales, and in that way, I don't see him as much different from Cheney's sell-out daughter. I don't care that he doesn't want to be the voice of gay men, that's fine, its not a calling for everyone, and yes, he's an entertainer, but he shouldn't be putting his internalized homophobia on the rest of us when it comes to standing up for himself, and letting that slide when he decides he needs more attention so he can sell more records. If he REALLY didn't want to be "every gay man", then he wouldn't be doing publicly the same thing I can see in any vapid Chelsea club any night of the week and reinforcing the image the opposing side of America has of us as being sex-crazed whores. His AMA performance is only serving to further marginalize every gay family that just wants to live quietly and have its own life. He's only wearing that mantle when it suits him and his wallet, and I think that speaks to a massive lack of integrity.
